KOL
ISHAH: THE RABBI IS A WOMAN

Official Website
KOL ISHAH: THE RABBI IS A WOMAN opens a window into the
world of four diverse women rabbis, women whose spiritual calling
has led them on a path traditionally taken by men.
“Kol Ishah” means “woman’s voice”
in Hebrew. The documentary shows how the rich and complex nature
of Judaism enables these four women rabbis to adapt religious texts
and passages to reflect their particular experience, and to be able
to embrace - and be embraced by – their communities.
"This is an illuminating, kaleidoscopic film about women
who are living their faith as well as their leadership abilities.
Hannah Heer conveys the 'voice of a woman' (as the title proposes)
- which is as true of the filmmaker as her subjects."
- Annette Insdorf, author and Professor at Columbia University,
New York
